Geodesic deviation as a signature of localized spacetime anisotropy

Abstract

Anisotropic modifications to the vacuum of general relativity produce measurable geodesic deviation on sub-meter scales. We compute the expected signal for three candidate modifications and compare against published null results from cold-atom interferometry. Two classes of anisotropy remain viable above the current experimental bound.
