Determining the absolute neutrino mass scale remains one of the most compelling challenges in particle physics. To constrain theoretical models, establishing precise relations among neutrino masses is essential. We propose a simple integral representation of the neutrino mass-squared differences $Δm_{ij}^2$ that provides a complementary perspective on these oscillation parameters. We then demonstrate its utility through several examples. Specifically, assuming stringent cosmological bounds that confine the sum of neutrino masses near the normal ordering floor, we derive an analytical condition for the lightest neutrino mass, $m_1 < \sqrt{61Δm^2_{21}}/30$. Using recent data from the JUNO experiment, this yields a competitive upper limit of $m_1<0.0023$ eV (95\% C.L.). We also formulate practical analytical bounds for $m_{2}$ and $m_{3}$ adaptable to future data, and translate the results into allowed ranges for the effective electron and Majorana neutrino masses $m_{ν_e}$ and $m_{ββ}$. Finally, we show that neutrino mass relations of the Gatto-Sartori-Tonin type emerge directly from the proposed integral representation.

High-energy neutrinos arise from processes at large center-of-mass energies, offering a window to test physics at comparable scales or beyond those accessible in collider experiments on Earth. Here, we present a recipe for extracting two-sided bounds on the inelastic $pp$ and $pγ$ cross sections from neutrino point-source data, by independently constraining every astrophysical input (cosmic-ray luminosities and target densities) through electromagnetic observations or theoretical arguments. The cross section is then the only remaining free parameter. Applying this framework to the IceCube associations with TXS~0506+056, NGC~1068, and the Galactic Plane, to a stacked population of eleven X-ray bright Seyfert galaxies, to the ultra-high-energy KM3NeT event KM3-230213A, and to projected observations of ultra-high-energy neutrinos, we obtain constraints that span center-of-mass energies from $\sqrt{s}\sim 1$ GeV to $\sim 10^{5}$ GeV, some of which are well beyond the reach of the LHC and, for the $pγ$ channel, beyond HERA. Several of these bounds are more stringent than unitarity limits.

We study the impact of small-transverse-momentum resummation for neutral-current Drell-Yan lepton-pair production on the determination of collinear parton distribution functions (PDFs). We focus on measurements of the Z-boson transverse-momentum spectrum performed by ATLAS and CMS at the LHC at centre-of-mass energies of 8 and 13 TeV, and include them in PDF fits based on the NNPDF methodology. Theoretical predictions are computed at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbative QCD and are supplemented with small-transverse-momentum resummation corrections at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy obtained with RadISH. Missing higher-order uncertainties are accounted for through a theory covariance matrix constructed from renormalisation- and factorisation-scale variations. We first revisit the treatment of the 8 TeV data, replacing the fixed-order predictions used in previous analyses with numerically stable NNLO calculations, and removing the additional numerical uncertainties introduced in earlier fits. We then assess the impact of the 13 TeV measurements, of resummation corrections, and of progressively lowering the minimum cut on the dilepton transverse momentum. We find that resummation improves the description of the Z boson transverse-momentum data and is essential for ensuring the overall consistency of the PDF fits. Nevertheless, it does not conclusively support extending the fitted kinematic region to transverse momenta below a few tens of GeV. The impact of resummation on PDFs is moderate, leading primarily to a stabilisation of the gluon PDF in a kinematic region of relevance for LHC phenomenology. Finally, we comment on the fact that the treatment of correlations among theoretical uncertainties may play a central role in PDF fits to measurements with percent- and sub-percent-level precision.

In this work, we present the calculation of the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD and electroweak corrections to the thermally averaged cross section of Dark Matter (DM) annihilation in the framework of the complex singlet extended Standard Model (CxSM) with one DM candidate. We derive the corresponding NLO QCD and electroweak corrected relic density and discuss the impact of the corrections as well as the remaining theoretical uncertainty due to missing higher-order corrections. This is estimated through a variation of the renormalization schemes for the singlet vacuum expectation value $v_S$ and the Higgs mixing angle $α$. For the bulk of the scanned parameter points, the QCD and electroweak corrections are found to be of typical size with the remaining theoretical uncertainty ranging at the percent level. The larger corrections that are found, can be attributed to a large counterterm for $v_S$ emerging in the case of large mass gaps in the decay channel used for the renormalization. The corrections are of phenomenological impact. There are parameter points that are allowed at leading order (LO), but are excluded after including the NLO corrections to the relic density, and vice versa. Our corrections have been implemented in the new code RelExt@NLO based on the LO code RelExt, which has been made publicly available. This work marks a first step towards the calculation of the QCD and electroweak corrected relic densities in models with DM candidates stabilized by a discrete $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry.

We construct a thermodynamically self-consistent holographic QCD framework incorporating multiple conserved charges. By introducing three independent bulk $U(1)$ gauge fields, our Einstein-Maxwells-dilaton (EMsD) model naturally accommodates the coupled chemical potential landscape $(μ_B, μ_Q, μ_S)$ inherent to realistic heavy-ion collisions. Crucially, thermodynamic consistency is enforced at the level of holographic renormalization, ensuring exact Maxwell cross-derivative relations without ad hoc patching. Calibrated exclusively at zero density, the model exhibits genuine predictive power for finite-density thermodynamics. We reveal that finite charge and strangeness densities induce pronounced nonmonotonic shifts in the critical endpoint (CEP) location. Furthermore, by mapping the freeze-out trajectories, we demonstrate that the allowed parameter bands robustly encompass empirical hadron resonance gas (HRG) fits. Within this physical regime, higher-order cumulant ratios for both net-baryon and net-charge channels exhibit coherent critical peaks at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} \approx 5\text{--}7\,\text{GeV}$. This hierarchical dual-channel signature provides a decisive, background-free strategy for the ongoing experimental search for the QCD critical point.

We construct a nuclear-matter equation of state (EOS) from holographic QCD in the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto (WSS) model, going beyond the homogeneous ansatz by building dense baryonic matter more directly from the solitonic description of holographic baryons. Employing the two-baryon interaction potential obtained from the linearized soliton tails sourced in the curved background by point-like (core) instantons, we assemble an infinite face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal with nearest neighbors in the most attractive channel as an approximation to the quantum liquid of baryons and compute the energy density $\mathcal{E}(n_B)$, the chemical potential $μ_B$, and the pressure $P$. We calibrate the symmetric-matter EOS by fixing the 't Hooft coupling $λ$ and the WSS scale $M_{\rm KK}$ to saturation-density and onset-chemical-potential properties, and by including a quark-mass term to reproduce the physical pion mass $m_π=135\,\mathrm{MeV}$. This fit turns out to remain reasonably close to the parameters required by the vacuum meson sector, while their modification is consistent with Brown-Rho scaling in a dense medium, and the incompressibility at saturation is of the correct order of magnitude, both in clear contrast to the homogeneous approximation. We then extend to beta-equilibrated matter, using phenomenological input for the symmetry energy, and obtain hybrid EOS and neutron-star observables that are compatible with the NICER constraints.

The recently announced NA62 measurement of the $K^{+}\toπ^{+}ν\barν$ branching ratio, based on 2016--2024 data, is fully consistent with its very accurate Standard Model (SM) prediction. While it is not excluded that the final result based on 2016--2026 data will deviate from the SM prediction, the question arises whether a similar fate awaits the $K_{L}\toπ^{0}ν\barν$ decay. This decay is currently being searched for by the KOTO experiment, with the present upper bound roughly two orders of magnitude above its very precise SM prediction. The proposed KOTO II experiment aims to provide the first discovery of the $K_{L}\toπ^{0}ν\barν$ decay and measure its branching ratio. Building on the findings of several previous papers we demonstrate that in the presence of suitably chosen large new complex phases and of a small amount of new right-handed $\bar s d$ couplings, in addition to the left-handed ones, the $K_{L}\toπ^{0}ν\barν$ branching ratio can still be enhanced by one order of magnitude with respect to the SM prediction while keeping both $K^{+}\toπ^{+}ν\barν$ and $\varepsilon_K$ SM-like. Simultaneously the decays $K_S\toμ^+μ^-$, studied by LHCb, and $K_L\toπ^0\ell^+\ell^-$, searched for by KOTO II, can be strongly enhanced and the anomaly in the ratio $\varepsilon^{\prime}/\varepsilon$, as claimed by Dual QCD, removed. We illustrate this with an example of a specific $Z^\prime$ scenario.

Within the framework of strong-field quantum electrodynamics, we study the creation of muon-antimuon pairs in laser-assisted collisions of electrons with positrons, whose center-of-mass energy is close to the threshold of the process. Our focus lies on incident collision energies slightly below the threshold, where the associated energy gap has to be overcome by multiphoton absorption from the applied high-intensity laser field while the collision occurs. We calculate the cross section of the process and discuss its nonperturbative dependencies on the energy gap and the laser parameters. Three qualitatively different interaction regimes are identified, where the influence of the laser field either has a classical or fully quantum nature. In the latter case, an exponential dependence of the cross section on the collision parameters is found, which resembles the Schwinger effect.

We investigate the discovery potential for the vector-like $X$-quark (VLX) at future muon--proton ($μp$) colliders through the process $μ^+ p \to \barν_μX \to \barν_μt W^+$. A simplified effective model is adopted in which the production and decay of the VLX are governed by the coupling strength $g^{*}$, the generation-mixing parameter $R_{L}$, and the VLX mass $m_X$. A comprehensive Monte Carlo analysis is performed at $\sqrt{s}=5.29$, $6.48$, and $9.16\ \mathrm{TeV}$, considering four complementary decay channels: the Fully Leptonic (FL), Fully Hadronic (FH), and two Semi-Leptonic (SL1 and SL2) modes. An $80\%$ polarized muon beam together with boosted-object reconstruction based on fat-jet techniques is employed to improve the signal sensitivity. The expected exclusion and discovery reaches are evaluated using the Asimov significance. We find that the sensitivity can be improved substantially with increasing center-of-mass energy and larger values of $R_L$. Among the four channels, the FH mode provides the strongest sensitivity, reaching a $2σ$ exclusion limit of $m_X\simeq8.3\ \mathrm{TeV}$ with $g^* = 0.009 $ for $R_L=0.1$ at $\sqrt{s}=9.16\ \mathrm{TeV}$, whereas the FL mode gives the weakest reach because of its smallest branch ratio. These results demonstrate that future $μp$ colliders can offer significant sensitivity to heavy VLX over a broad region of parameter space.

We present an automated framework within the Sherpa event generator for the simulation of photon-induced processes in high-energy collisions of protons and nuclei. The calculation builds upon the equivalent-photon approximation and incorporates different form factor parametrisations, taking into account the full dependence on the finite size of emitters and their impact parameter. Higher-order effects are taken into account automatically by either YFS-resummation of soft photon emissions to all orders or Next-to-Leading Order in electroweak theory. We validate our simulation framework using data from two representative ATLAS measurements of exclusive $μ$-pair production in $pp$ and Pb+Pb collisions. Exemplary predictions for exclusive $W$-pair production in $pp$ collisions and $τ$-pair production in both $pp$ and Pb+Pb collisions are presented.

Compact heavy quarkonium couples through the multipole interaction to scalar and spin-two gluonic operators. At leading chromoelectric order the corresponding matching coefficients satisfy $C_2^Φ=-C_S^Φ$; an independent chromomagnetic polarizability lifts this relation within the general CP-even, spin-independent, local two-gluon interaction at dimension four and zero derivative order. We construct an RG-consistent realization in a fixed $MS$ convention. The QCD trace identity converts the gluon-only scalar matching condition into an invariant basis and fixes the correlated quark-mass coefficient required when the interaction is re-expressed in the scale-dependent basis away from the matching scale, whereas leading-logarithmic singlet evolution induces a quark spin-two coefficient. In threshold-aligned symmetric kinematics, the canonical-spin non-flip projection contains $A_i(t)$ and the combination $3B_i(t)-D_i(t)$. An explicit Breit-frame calculation relates this projection to an off-diagonal helicity representation for nonzero spacelike $t$; the off-diagonal form is kinematic rather than an additional dynamical spin flip. Linearity of the scalar and spin-two evolution factorizes the chromomagnetic dependence of their ratio as $R_{2/0}^Φ(t;ρ_Φ)=[(1+ρ_Φ)/(1-ρ_Φ)]R_{2/0}^Φ(t;0)$ within the gluon-only dimension-four matching setup. The result separates state-dependent quarkonium matching from scalar and gravitational nucleon structure and states explicitly the assumptions under which this factorization holds.

We study a type-I seesaw framework based on non-holomorphic $A_4$ modular symmetry, where polyharmonic Maaß forms construct the Yukawa couplings and right-handed neutrino (RHN) Majorana mass matrix. The use of non-holomorphic modular forms yields highly constrained neutral lepton mass matrices with a more restrictive lepton-sector structure and naturally generates a quasi-degenerate RHN mass spectrum, enabling resonant leptogenesis at an intermediate scale with RHN masses of $\mathcal{O}(10^3)$ TeV without requiring an ad hoc mass degeneracy. We further extend the model by introducing a complex scalar field $(Φ)$ charged under $\mathbb{Z}_3$ symmetry. The spontaneous breaking of the discrete symmetry after the phase transition associated with $Φ$ leads to domain-wall (DW) formation. A radiatively induced bias term associated with the RHN sector triggers DW annihilation, resolving the cosmological DW problem, and producing a stochastic gravitational wave (GW) signal that indirectly probes the RHN mass scale. The accompanying first-order phase transition produces a second GW peak, yielding a characteristic double-peaked spectrum with frequencies separated by several orders of magnitude and potentially observable by complementary future GW detectors.

We study the confinement phase transition in SU($N_{c}$) pure Yang-Mills theory at finite $θ\neq 0$ using the Improved Holographic QCD (IHQCD) model. We show that the critical temperature, as a function of $θ$ for large but fixed $N_{c}$, is reduced, thus decreasing the amount of supercooling in the confinement phase transition. Upon completion of the confinement phase transition, a network of domain walls can be produced, owing to the multi-branched vacuum structure of Yang-Mills theory at finite $θ$. We highlight the potential interplay between the produced domain walls and the confinement phase transition dynamics. We emphasize that DW production from bubble coalescence in strongly coupled non-conformal FOPTs is a dynamical process of vacuum assignment, hydrodynamics, and local reheating effects, all potentially affecting the approach towards the scaling regime. Lastly, we demonstrate the level of tuning necessary for potentially interesting imprints from gravitational waves through domain wall annihilation and its interplay with the confinement PT.

Motivated by a recent study of the 3-3-1 model supplemented with a singlet scalar leptoquark, which successfully explains the muon anomalous magnetic moment and the decay $μ\to eγ$ within current experimental constraints, we extend the phenomenological analysis of this framework to include the lepton-flavor-violating decays of the Standard Model-like Higgs and the $Z$ boson. An interesting feature is that the branching ratios of these decays exhibit a nearly linear correlation with the corresponding charged lepton flavor-violating radiative decays, namely $\mathrm{Br}(h,Z\to e_b^\pm e_a^\mp)\propto\mathrm{Br}(e_b\to e_aγ)$. Furthermore, the model exhibits a complementary interplay between the charged-lepton anomalous magnetic moments: parameter regions with $|Δa_μ|\geq10^{-11}$ favor $\mathrm{Br}(h,Z\toτ^\pmμ^\mp)$ reaching their current experimental upper limits while keeping $|Δa_e|$ negligible, whereas regions with $10^{-14}\leq|Δa_e|\leq 8\times10^{-13}$ instead allow $\mathrm{Br}(h,Z\toτ^\pm e^\mp)$ to approach the present experimental sensitivities but simultaneously suppress $|Δa_μ|$ to the level of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-16})$.

Inspired by the recent experimental discovery of doubly charmed baryons, we investigate the possible $Ξ_{cc}^{(*)}K^{(*)}$ molecular systems within the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model. The energy spectra and scattering processes of the relevant baryon-meson systems are investigated to explore the dynamical properties of the possible molecular states. The spectrum calculations predict three bound states, namely the $I(J^P)=0(1/2^{-})$ $Ξ_{cc}K$, the $I(J^P)=0(3/2^{-})$ $Ξ_{cc}^{*}K$, and the $I(J^P)=0(5/2^{-})$ $Ξ_{cc}^{*}K^{*}$ molecular states. The scattering phase shift analysis further confirms two $Ξ_{cc}K^{*}$ resonance states with $I(J^P)=0(1/2^{-})$ and $0(3/2^{-})$, which originate from quasi-bound states through channel coupling. In particular, the $I(J^P)=0(1/2^{-})$ $Ξ_{cc}K$ bound state is consistent with previous theoretical studies, making it one of the most promising candidates for future experimental searches.

We investigate an invisible lepton-flavor-violating scalar $φ$ with exclusive $e-μ$ couplings and study its resonant production via $μ^+e^-\toφ$ in fixed-target experiments. Since the effective center-of-mass energy is determined by the momentum of the initial-state bound electrons, atomic effects can significantly affect the resonance behavior. We therefore employ relativistic bound-state electron wave functions to calculate the production cross section and reveal a material-dependent broadening of the resonance lineshape. For the proposed HIAF experiment, fewer than one day of data taking ($6\times10^{10}$ MOT) can probe couplings at the $10^{-5}$ level at 90\% confidence level near resonance, demonstrating that high-intensity muon fixed-target experiments provide a powerful complementary probe of lepton-flavor violation.

We have studied the transport phenomena and observables associated with viscous properties of a baryon asymmetric hot QCD medium in the presence of a weak-momentum anisotropy arising due to the asymptotic expansion of the matter in the initial stages of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. This study facilitates the understanding of the sound attenuation in the medium through the Prandtl number, the nature of flow through the Reynolds number, fluid behavior through the specific shear viscosity, and conformal symmetry through the specific bulk viscosity for an anisotropic hot QCD medium at finite baryon asymmetry. We have determined the shear and bulk viscosities by solving the relativistic Boltzmann transport equation in the relaxation time approximation method. The interactions among partons are incorporated through their distribution functions within the quasiparticle model of hot QCD medium at finite temperature, anisotropy and baryon asymmetry. We have observed a decrease in the shear and bulk viscosities in the presence of expansion-induced anisotropy for baryonless scenario as well as for baryon asymmetric scenario. Conversely, these viscosities are larger in baryon asymmetric matter compared to their counterparts in baryonless matter. The impact of anisotropy on baryon asymmetric matter is observed to be as conspicuous as on baryonless matter. The above results are broadly attributed to the squeezing of the distribution function due to the momentum anisotropy generated by the asymptotic expansion of baryon asymmetric matter and the dispersion relations of partons in the presence of anisotropy. Additionally, the aforesaid observables are also significantly modulated by the expansion-induced anisotropy in the baryon asymmetric medium, indicating new predictions for the sound attenuation, flow characteristics, fluid behavior and conformal symmetry of the said medium.

Beam-induced backgrounds at high-luminosity $e^+e^-$ colliders, such as the FCC-ee, are dominated by incoherent pair creation (IPC), and require computationally expensive simulations with dedicated Monte Carlo (MC) event generators. Reliable detector and machine-detector interface studies necessitate event samples that are several orders of magnitude larger than what is practically attainable with existing MC. To alleviate this bottleneck, we present D$e^+e^-$ffusion, a denoising diffusion probabilistic model that operates as a permutation-equivariant, set-valued surrogate for fast IPC simulation. Trained on a small GuineaPig++ sample, D$e^+e^-$ffusion faithfully reproduces the marginal and joint kinematic, angular, and positional distributions of all three IPC production processes. In addition, we assess the fidelity at the detector level by propagating both Geant4 and D$e^+e^-$ffusion events through a Geant4 simulation of the CLD vertex detector and by training a transformer-based two-sample classifier; the classifier achieves an area under the ROC curve of $0.553 \pm 0.016$. The trained model generates events nearly four orders of magnitude faster than Geant4, paving the way for a fast-simulation surrogate for FCC-ee design studies.

We study entanglement entropy in Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) using the dipole formulation of the high-energy limit of QCD. We argue that a reduced density matrix arises in low $x$ DIS due to a trace over unobserved color degrees of freedom and we obtain entanglement entropy in terms of dipole multiplicities, directly from the von Neumann entropy. %In the present study we explicitly construct a density matrix representing the entangled state of the photon and proton and perform a trace over unobserved degrees of freedom. Dipole multiplicities are obtained from a solution to low $x$ evolution equations, which we solve numerically. Unlike previous studies, we take into account both transverse-size and azimuthal-angle dependence in the dipole evolution kernel. We study both the exact solution of the equation as well as its double leading-logarithmic approximation (DLLA). We find that for the same initial dipole size, the DLLA solution generates a larger entropy. %We interpret this as information loss due to erasing data on daughter dipole sizes. Finally, we calculate the dipole multiplicities and entanglement entropy and compare our results to the Shannon entropy of hadron multiplicities, as measured by the H1 collaboration.

Where do the Standard Model's internal symmetries come from? Treating $\mathbb{O}\oplus\mathbb{H}\oplus\mathbb{C}\oplus\mathbb{R}$ as a module for its own multiplication algebra enables a particular origin story for the Standard Model's pre-Higgs, $\mathfrak{g}_{SM}:=\mathfrak{su}(3)_{C} \oplus \mathfrak{su}(2)_{L} \oplus \mathfrak{u}(1)_{Y},$ and post-Higgs, $\mathfrak{g}_{LE}:=\mathfrak{su}(3)_{C} \oplus \mathfrak{u}(1)_{Q},$ symmetries. We recognize both these endomorphisms and their modules alike as $\mathbb{Z}_2^n$-graded algebras. Then, annihilating certain highest grade (volume) elements, and imposing an equal-trace condition on anti-hermitian operators leads precisely to $\mathfrak{g}_{SM}$ and $\mathfrak{g}_{LE}$. Weak hypercharge and electric charge operators, $Y$ and $Q,$ take on a remarkably simple form: $\sum \frac{1}{n}\mathbb{I}_{n\times n}$. With the help of auxiliary imaginary units, this 15 $\mathbb{R}$ dimensional $\mathbb{O}\oplus\mathbb{H}\oplus\mathbb{C}\oplus\mathbb{R}$ embeds naturally as a vector space into several well-studied 16 $\mathbb{R}$ dimensional algebras, which we generically refer to as $\mathbb{V}.$ With this embedding, the Standard Model's internal symmetries may then be seen to arise in part from the sequence of nested inclusions: $\mathbb{R}\subset\mathbb{C}\subset\mathbb{H}\subset \mathbb{O}\subset\mathbb{V}.$ In the sedenionic case of $\mathbb{V} = \mathbb{S},$ the full sequence becomes a Cayley-Dickson tower. We define the notion of endomorphic models of particle physics, and connect $End_\mathbb{R}(\mathbb{V})\simeq Cl(0,8)$ to the earlier ideas of Bott Periodic Particle Physics. We comment on a possible connection between the existence of multiple complex structures and the baryon asymmetry problem.

We map the observational predictions of cosmological stasis in the inflationary gravitational wave background onto the sensitivity bands of current and planned gravitational wave detectors. Using the closed-form piecewise spectral template derived in the companion paper, we generate detectability maps for four stasis scenarios: canonical, dynamical scalar, vacuum-energy/matter, and vacuum-energy/radiation across the frequency bands probed by NANOGrav, SKA, LISA, DECIGO, BBO, the Einstein Telescope, and Cosmic Explorer. For scenarios in which the spectrum is suppressed, $w_s < 1/3$, the stasis feature is detectable by BBO in the region of $(w_s,ΔN)$ parameter space in which $w_s\gtrsim 0.2$ for tensor-to-scalar ratios close to the Planck upper limit, r = 0.036. For scenarios in which the spectrum is enhanced, $w_s > 1/3$, the stasis feature is detectable by BBO across the entire $(w_s,ΔN)$ parameter space for tensor-to-scalar ratios of $O(0.01)$. We characterize the Standard Model (SM) $g_*$ fine structure of the IGWB, showing that SM phase transitions introduce spectral steps of $\approx 20\%$ (electroweak, at $\sim 2.6\times10^{-6}$~Hz) and $\approx 53\%$ (QCD, at $\sim 3.6\times 10^{-9}$~Hz). For stasis scenarios with end-of-stasis temperatures below the QCD scale these steps fall inside the stasis band and constitute additional spectral features that complement the primary signature. Finally, we model the finite-width end-of-stasis transition phenomenologically, demonstrating that the spectral break at $f_{end}$ is smoothed over a log-frequency window $ΔN_\mathrm{trans}\times 3(1+w_s)/4$, and that the consistency relation $C^2=C^2(α)$ remains testable provided $ΔN_\mathrm{stasis}\gg ΔN_\mathrm{trans}$, a condition easily satisfied for all scenarios of phenomenological interest.

The Plan B Model was proposed by Allanach et al. (2023) and explains some gross features of the fermion mass spectrum. It also affects the predictions of various observables involving the $b \rightarrow s$ quark-flavour transition. The model predicts a new TeV-scale $Z^{\prime}$ which decays into various different final states. We constrain the viable parameter space of the model by re-casting several LHC direct searches for the $Z^{\prime}$ in addition to using Contur to test the model against unfolded measurements of various differential cross sections that are predicted to be non-zero in the Standard Model. We delineate the regions of parameter space that are excluded by current LHC data, and estimate the projected reach of the high luminosity LHC.

We investigate how localized quantum corrections to the inflaton potential affect preheating dynamics and the resulting stochastic gravitational wave (GW) spectrum. When these corrections sufficiently suppress the quadratic term of the potential near its minimum, inflaton self-resonance can produce a peaked GW spectrum. On the other hand, we find that a smooth and enhanced spectrum can appear if the quadratic term acquires a negative coefficient. As a concrete realization, we analyze the $α$-attractor T-model with a one-loop Coleman--Weinberg correction induced by a heavy scalar and compute the resulting GW spectra using lattice simulations. The GW signals lie in the ultra-high-frequency regime at frequencies above the kHz range. These results suggest that GW signals from preheating may probe quantum corrections to the inflaton potential, thereby providing indirect information about the underlying UV physics.

In this thesis, we demonstrate the predictive power of the flavour models without explicit flavour symmetries, which we call the `swampland of flavour symmetries'. Firstly, we revisit the minimal type II seesaw model, which extends the Standard Model (SM) with a TeV-scale triplet scalar field. We find that certain flavour textures of the neutrino mass matrix can suppress the tightly constrained $μ\to e$ transition rates and allow a $5-6$ TeV effective cut-off scale, even when the relevant flavour symmetries are all strongly broken. Next, we show two examples in which some SM flavour parameters are calculable, but the underlying symmetries remain implicit. (i) In the most minimal $SO(10)$ theory, although the quark-lepton symmetry does not manifest at low energies, we find that the $b-τ$ mass ratio can be correctly predicted when the leptoquarks contained in the scalar sector lie at TeV scale, as motivated by the long-standing $B$ anomalies. (ii) We identify a new class of anomaly-free chiral symmetries in the SM (including three right-handed neutrinos), referred to as enhanced $B-L$, under which all neutrinos are massless. In this framework, the neutrino masses are not free parameters but arise solely through the dynamical symmetry breaking effects, known as neutrino condensate. Furthermore, we note that the swampland of flavour symmetries could also involve light new particles, in particular the flavourful axions. As a preliminary study, we calculate an overlooked two-loop contribution to the axion flavour violating interactions in a minimal axion model, and analyze its impact on explaining a recent excess at Belle II.

In strongly ordered collinear limits, triple-collinear $1\to 3$ splitting functions factorize into products of $1\to 2$ splitting functions. Here, we investigate whether, and under which conditions, this factorization persists in a finite QCD medium. To this end, we reformulate the opacity expansion as a medium-modification of the compact Catani-Grazzini representation of collinear $1\to n$ splitting functions. We compute the fully differential medium-modified triple-collinear $q\to q c\bar{c}$ splitting function to first order in opacity and leading order in $N_c$, and show that it can be expressed as a sum of momentum-shifted vacuum $q\to q c\bar{c}$ splitting functions multiplied by simple interference factors. In vacuum, this splitting function has a single strongly ordered collinear limit, in which the invariant mass of the outgoing $c\bar{c}$ pair is much smaller than all other invariant masses. The medium-modified splitting function instead exhibits three distinct strongly ordered limits, depending on how the relevant invariant masses -- multiplied by a boost factor and interpretable as inverse formation times -- compare with the medium length. Remarkably, in all three cases the triple-collinear splitting factorizes also in the medium into a tensor product of $q\to qg$ and $g\to c\bar{c}$ splitting functions. In two of these limits, the latter are medium modified to first order in opacity. This first proof shows that factorization extends to medium-modified triple-collinear splitting functions. Lastly, we relate our results to the longstanding problem of overlapping formation times and discuss their implications for jet-quenching parton showers based on medium-modified $1\to 2$ splittings. We also outline further applications of our formalism and note that our results may inform future phenomenological studies of spin (de)correlations in final-state radiation in dense QCD matter.

The scalar potential of the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) can admit multiple non-degenerate vacua due to the presence of the two Higgs doublets unlike the Standard Model (SM). For a physically viable parameter point, one of these vacua must correspond to the physical electroweak (EW) symmetry breaking vacuum with the vacuum expectation value of about $246$ GeV. Given the complex structure of the scalar potential, the physical EW vacuum may be metastable in nature rather than the global minimum of the potential. In this work, we delineate regions of the parameter space in the Type-II 2HDM accommodating multiple extrema of the scalar potential and analyze, in a gauge-independent manner, the stability of the EW vacuum there at the tree level and beyond. A Bayesian global fit of the Type-II 2HDM, including next-to-leading-order unitarity constraints and the latest experimental measurements, indicates that parameter space regions leading to metastable EW vacua are excluded at both the tree and one-loop levels.

We construct the soft gluon light cone wave function of a fast moving hadron and the associated unitary evolution operator $Ω$ up to $\mathcal{O}(g^{2})$ in pure Yang Mills theory $(N_{f} = 0)$, within the Color Glass Condensate (CGC) framework. Working in light cone gauge, we perform a Born Oppenheimer separation between fast valence and soft modes and implement the eikonal approximation, which allows $Ω$ to be written as a fully normal ordered series in soft gluon creation and annihilation operators. The expansion coefficients are functionals of the non-commuting valence color charge density operators $ρ$. We fix the coefficients by using the unitarity and explicit diagrammatic calculations within light-cone perturbation theory (LCPT). As an application, we diagonalize the pure Yang Mills soft Hamiltonian through orders $g$ and $g^{2}$ and show that the off diagonal mixing elements between Fock sectors cancel leading to the coherent background field energy proportional to $ρ^{2}$.

The cosmic axion background (CaB) is a hypothetical population of relativistic axions produced in the early universe. If the CaB is produced from dark matter decays, the axions in this population can convert to photons in the magnetic fields of cosmological filaments, resulting in an isotropic gamma ray background flux. We present new indirect detection constraints on the axion mass and axion-photon coupling, for GeV-TeV dark matter with a decay lifetime below $10^{30}$ sec, by comparing this flux against experimental data. We exclude significant parameter space for axion masses below $10^{-5}$~eV for a broad range of dark matter masses and lifetimes, assuming conservative filament magnetic field strengths ($\sim 1$ nG). For large filament fields ($\sim 100$ nG), our strategy also constrains a portion of the QCD-axion parameter space for TeV-scale dark matter masses.

Future interferometers may detect a gravitational-wave (GW) signal from a cosmological first-order phase transition. Reconstructing the underlying particle-physics model from such a signal requires theoretical control over the map from microphysics to the spectrum. For classically scale-invariant extensions of the Standard Model, which generically predict strongly supercooled transitions and strong GW signals, this map depends sensitively on the treatment of quantum and thermal corrections to the nucleation rate. Taking the classically conformal ${\rm U}(1)_X$ model as representative of this class, we scan its parameter space and compare two resummation schemes. The first is a high-temperature effective field theory, matched at two-loop level and including next-to-leading-order corrections to the bounce action, with the nucleation-rate prefactor given by the full one-loop functional determinants. The second is a commonly employed daisy-resummed effective potential, with the prefactor estimated on dimensional grounds. Reconstructing the fundamental model parameters through a Fisher-matrix analysis of injected GW signals at LISA, we find that the daisy-resummation scheme is strongly disfavored, as its theoretical error dominates over the reconstruction uncertainty.

We present HyperIso, a new standalone program for the evaluation of flavour physics observables across a wide variety of Standard Model (SM) and Beyond-the-Standard-Model (BSM) scenarios. The code builds on the physics heritage of SuperIso, but is implemented as a new modular software package with a modern C++ core and multiple user interfaces. In addition to native implementations for established scenarios such as the SM, the general Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (THDM), and supersymmetric models, HyperIso interfaces with the MARTY framework to compute automatically BSM Wilson coefficients at leading order. This design makes it possible to study user-defined BSM models while keeping the observable calculation, uncertainty propagation and statistical interpretation in a common backend. The software provides C++, Python, command-line and graphical interfaces. It supports the evaluation of key observables such as the branching ratios and, where available, angular observables, for radiative, leptonic, and semileptonic B decays, as well as for the relevant kaon and D-meson decays, together with the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2). The inputs can be provided through JSON/YAML configuration files and Les Houches Accord files, either supplied by the user or generated by external spectrum calculators. HyperIso therefore provides a flexible and extensible tool for flavour studies, phenomenological scans and the validation of BSM scenarios.

Magnetometers are among the most widely used probes in science and technology. Comagnetometers increase sensitivity by self-cancellation of magnetic noise, but only at low frequencies. We suggest a correlated measurement of two alkali species in one cell to cancel the magnetic background also at high frequencies. The inter-species phase difference of the light-matter interaction response function is found to be calibration free and insensitive to common-mode intensity noise. Utilizing a dark-matter signal as a testcase, the method achieves a thirtyfold background suppression, raising the signal-to-noise ratio by an order of magnitude or more, depending on the coupling to the different subatomic particles. We show that the method also provides model differentiation. The higher sensitivity and model differentiation open a path to novel probes for precision measurements in general and exotic fields in particular.

Wide stellar binaries are sensitive dynamical probes of dark matter substructure. We generalize existing point-mass disruption constraints to spherical extended dark objects and apply the resulting framework to the population of wide-binary candidates identified in the ultra-faint dwarf galaxy Bootes I. We derive 95% confidence limits on the dark matter fraction as a function of the perturber mass, the radius enclosing 90% of the mass, and the density profile, considering Navarro-Frenk-White, r^-3/2, and r^-9/4 models. Sufficiently compact objects converge to the point-mass limit, whereas finite size suppresses binary disruption when the perturber becomes comparable to the relevant encounter and binary scales. The constraints remain sensitive to dark matter fractions well below unity over a broad region of the mass-radius plane and extend to objects substantially larger than those accessible to conventional microlensing searches. As an application, we map the r^-3/2 results onto ultracompact minihalos and derive an illustrative constraint on the primordial curvature power spectrum. Ultra-faint-dwarf wide binaries therefore offer a purely gravitational probe of the abundance of extended dark matter objects and of the small-scale primordial curvature power spectrum.

The semileptonic and nonleptonic decays of the $Υ(nS)$ with $n=1,2,3,4$ are investigated within the covariant light-front quark model (CLFQM). Using the form factors of the transitions $Υ(nS) \to B_{(c)}$ obtained from the CLFQM, we calculate the branching ratios of the decays $Υ(nS)\to B_{(c)}\ellν_\ell$ and $Υ(nS)\to B_{(c)}M$ with $\ell=e,μ,τ$ and $M$ referring to $π(ρ),K^{(*)},D^{(*)},D^{(*)}_s$. One can find that the branching ratios of the decays $Υ(3S)\to B_c\ellν_\ell$ are the largest among those of considered semileptonic decays and can amount to $10^{-9}$; As to the nonleptonic decays, $Υ(3S)\to B_cρ$ and $Υ(3S)\to B_cD^{(*)}_s$ have the largest branching ratios, which reach up to $10^{-10}$. Given the identification and detection efficiency of final states, searching for these weak decay modes should be fairly challenging in future experiments. The forward-backward asymmetry $A_{FB}$ and the longitudinal polarization fraction $f_L$ are also calculated for those semileptonic decays.

Statistical testing for signal discovery and signal-strength estimation in high-energy physics increasingly relies on machine-learning models trained on simulated data. We present a synthetic dataset for $t\bar t H$ multilepton signal--background classification and perform a systematic evaluation of machine-learning models ranging from the widely used XGBoost for tabular data to LorentzNet, which processes events with built-in Lorentz symmetry. Existing studies often differ in feature definitions, training procedures, and evaluation metrics, making it difficult to isolate the impact of model architecture on performance. To address this, we apply standardized training and hyperparameter-optimization procedures, construct a controlled hierarchy of feature sets, and perform a comprehensive comparison of the models. In addition to the analysis-driven metric of signal-strength uncertainty, we report the commonly used ROC AUC metric and show that under realistically weighted training, it correlates well with the uncertainty-based ranking of models. We further investigate model performance as a function of input feature set, training-set size, and the choice between channel-specific and unified multi-channel training. Our results establish the superiority of Particle Transformer and LorentzNet within the considered setup. We also identify potential avenues for further improvement, including more expressive architectures, joint training across additional analysis channels, and larger simulated datasets. Although this study focuses on a specific Higgs-boson analysis, we expect the main conclusions to generalize to a broader class of searches and measurements at the LHC and HL-LHC.

Recent precision measurements of excited heavy baryons, combined with systematic theoretical studies, make it possible to resolve the fine structure of their spectra. We calculate the masses and strong-decay properties of the $P$-wave charmed baryons using QCD sum rules and light-cone sum rules within heavy quark effective theory (HQET). Although seven states are allowed in each flavor sector, we find that only four $Σ_c$, four $Ξ_c^\prime$, and five $Ω_c$ states are expected to be experimentally resolvable. The similar mass-splitting patterns of $Ξ_c(2882)$, $Ξ_c(2923)$, $Ξ_c(2939)$, and $Ξ_c(2965)$ and of $Ω_c(3000)$, $Ω_c(3050)$, $Ω_c(3066)$, and $Ω_c(3090)$, together with our theoretical results, lead to the successive quantum-number assignments $J^P=1/2^-,3/2^-,3/2^-$, and $5/2^-$. We tentatively interpret $Ω_c(3119)$ as a predominantly $ρ$-mode excitation with $J^P=3/2^-$. We also predict the masses, widths, and dominant decay modes of four resolvable $P$-wave $Σ_c$ states, which may overlap within the observed $Σ_c(2800)$ and $Σ_c(2900)$ structures. Precision spectroscopy of the narrow $Ξ_c$ and $Ω_c$ states thus provides a route to resolving the $P$-wave $Σ_c$ spectrum.

In a model with $L_μ - L_τ$ Abelian gauge symmetry, anomaly-free chiral fermions, which are Standard Model singlets, are introduced as the origin of right-handed neutrinos. This $\mathsf{U} (1)$ symmetry keeps the right-handed neutrinos Majorana massless. Tiny nonvanishing Dirac masses of neutrinos are due to higher-dimensional operators with natural coupling constants. After gauge symmetry breaking, a quasi-Dirac neutrino scenario naturally appears, and realistic neutrino physics can be produced. Phenomenological and cosmological aspects of the model are discussed.

In this work, we focus on the light vector meson leading-twist longitudinal distribution amplitudes (DAs) $φ^\parallel_{2;V}(x,μ)$ with $V = ρ, K^\ast, φ$. In order to obtain their accurate behaviors, a new scheme of QCD sum rule research with respect to DA suggested in 2021 by us is adopted. With an improved sum rule formula, the $ξ$-moments $\langleξ^n\rangle_{2;V}^\parallel$ up to tenth order are calculated. In which, $\langleξ^2\rangle^\parallel_{2;ρ}=0.225^{+0.013}_{-0.012}$, $\langleξ^1\rangle^\parallel_{2;K^\ast}=-0.0228^{+0.0042}_{-0.0040}$, $\langleξ^2\rangle^\parallel_{2;K^\ast}=0.217^{+0.007}_{-0.007}$, $\langleξ^2\rangle^\parallel_{2;φ}=0.209^{+0.020}_{-0.020}$, and the corresponding Gegenbauer moments $a^{2;\parallel}_{2;ρ}=0.074^{+0.039}_{-0.036}$, $a^{1;\parallel}_{2;K^\ast}=-0.038^{+0.007}_{-0.007}$, $a^{2;\parallel}_{2;K^\ast}=0.050^{+0.020}_{-0.019}$, $a^{2;\parallel}_{2;φ}=0.027^{+0.058}_{-0.058}$ at the scale $μ= 1~{\rm GeV}$, respectively. By fitting those $\langleξ^n\rangle^\parallel_{2;V}(n = 1,2,\cdots,10)$ with the least squares method, the behaviors of leading-twist longitudinal DAs for $ρ, K^\ast, φ$ are determined. Further, we recalculate the transition form factors and branching ratio of the $D\to(ρ,K^\ast)$, $D_s\toφ$ semi-leptonic decay processes.

We study the heavy quark mass dependence of the leading-twist light-cone distribution amplitude (LCDA) of the $Λ_Q$ baryon in QCD. Starting from the factorization formula that relates the QCD LCDA to the boosted heavy-quark effective theory (bHQET) LCDA, we derive a first-order partial differential equation governing this mass dependence in the peak region. The equation is solved analytically, and the explicit factor connecting LCDAs at different heavy quark masses is presented. We further incorporate Borel-resummed perturbative corrections from a renormalon model into the factorization. The impact of these renormalon corrections on the mass dependence is studied, and a numerical analysis using a simple LCDA model is performed to illustrate the behavior and to assess the uncertainties arising from the corrections, thereby providing a numerical estimate of the associated power corrections to the mass dependence. Our results provide an essential tool for extrapolating lattice QCD calculations of heavy-baryon LCDAs from smaller simulated masses to the physical bottom quark mass.

Models of unification predict additional $Z'$ boson, which contributes to parity non-conservation (PNC) in atoms. If $Z'$ boson is light, ratio of $Z'$ boson contribution to the Standard Model $Z$ boson contribution to atomic PNC increases with decreasing nuclear charge $Z$ faster than $1/Z^2$. This motivated our previous study of PNC in hydrogen and deuterium proportional to the weak interaction matrix elements $<s|W|p> $. An enormous additional relative enhancement appears in the matrix elements between higher waves, such as $<p_{1/2,3/2} | W | d_{3/2,5/2}> $, since $p_{3/2}$ and $d_{3/2,5/2}$ wave functions vanish at $r \to 0$, suppressing matrix elements of the contact $Z$ boson mediated contact electron-nucleus interaction. Measurements of $<p_{1/2,3/2} | W | d_{3/2,5/2}> $ will simplify disentanglement of the $Z'$ contribution from the Standard Model background.

The X(3872) remains one of the most intriguing exotic hadrons, lying extremely close to the $D^0\bar{D}^{*0}$ threshold. We construct an effective potential consisting of Coulomb, linear confinement and a Kapitza-inspired term representing the averaged effect of fast gluonic fluctuations. Numerical solution of the Schrödinger equation shows that this term provides effective attraction in the intermediate-distance region, yielding a ground-state mass of $3871.7 \pm 0.9$ MeV in excellent agreement with experiment. Coupled-channel analysis indicates a dominant molecular component ($\sim 65\%-72\%$) with a significant compact tetraquark core ($\sim 28\%-35\%$). We also present predictions for low-lying excited states. The model offers a physically motivated mechanism for threshold tuning.

The QCD axion with charm-only Peccei-Quinn coupling evades the isospin-violation problem of light-quark models in $χ$PT. Since $m_c>Λ_{\rm QCD}$, we employ heavy meson chiral perturbation theory (HMChPT) to constrain this GeV-scale axion, including its CP-even radial partner $σ$ and the axion $a$. In HMChPT, $σ$ enters at leading order with $O(1)$ coupling, while $a$ couples only at $O(1/m_c)$ and manifests via axion-pion mixing with $θ_{aπ}\simeq f_π/f_a\sim0.04$. We analyze $D$-meson masses, $D$-$D^*$ splitting, charmonium, $D$-$D$ scattering, $B_s$ mixing, rare $D$ decays, and the channels $K^+\toπ^+a$, $B\to K a$. No fatal HMChPT constraint emerges, unlike the $χ$PT isospin issue. The strongest bound is from $σ$-mediated $B_s$-$\bar B_s$ mixing; axion-pion mixing opens testable rare decays, though rates are slightly below current sensitivity.

We investigate a generalized Friedberg--Lee (FL) framework for neutrino masses, focusing on the singular parameter space at Point D ($α= β= -1/3$). At this limit, the neutrino mass matrix exhibits a democratic texture governed by the $S_3$ permutation symmetry. Although theoretically profound, the exact democratic limit is phenomenologically excluded as it predicts a degenerate mass spectrum and a vanishing reactor angle ($θ_{13}=0$). To reconcile this high-symmetry limit with experimental observations, we introduce a minimal and systematic perturbation that preserves the Twisted Friedberg--Lee (TFL) symmetry. This mechanism effectively lifts the mass degeneracy and breaks the magic and $μ$--$τ$ symmetries in a controlled manner. Our derivation avoids \textit{ad hoc} parameters, establishing a robust framework that yields a realistic inverted mass hierarchy ($m_3=0$), a non-zero $θ_{13}$, and intrinsic CP violation. We demonstrate that the model predicts maximal atmospheric mixing and a significant Dirac CP phase. The obtained numerical ranges for the neutrino masses and the Jarlskog invariant show excellent agreement with global fit data, providing a theoretically motivated foundation for neutrino flavor physics within the TFL scheme.

In this paper, we calculate the transition form factors (TFFs) $A_{1,2}(q^2)$ and $V(q^2)$ of $D_s^+ \to K^{*0}$ decays by using the QCD light-cone sum rule (QCD LCSR) and constructing a correlation function containing the usual current, in which the twist-2 transverse and longitudinal light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) $φ^λ_{2;K^{*0}}(x,μ_0)$ with $λ=(\bot,\|)$ of the $K^{*0}$ meson constitute the main source of theoretical uncertainty. Based on this, we construct these LCDAs using the light-cone harmonic oscillator model. Subsequently, the TFFs obtained in the large recoil region are $A_{1}(0)=0.579_{-0.028}^{+0.024}$, $A_{2}(0)=0.414_{-0.023}^{+0.021}$, and $V(0)=0.830_{-0.020}^{+0.020}$, and the corresponding ratios are obtained to be $r_V=1.433_{-0.090}^{+0.110}$ and $r_2=0.715_{-0.067}^{+0.075}$. Furthermore, we predict the correlation of TFFs and their corresponding ratios. Then, we extrapolate the TFFs over the whole physical $q^2$-region and calculate the decay widths and branching fractions for the semileptonic decays $D_s^+\to K^{*0}\ell^+ν_{\ell}$. The results are $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K^{*0}e^+ν_{e})=(2.05_{-0.16}^{+0.13})\times 10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K^{*0}μ^+ν_μ)=(1.95_{-0.15}^{+0.13})\times 10^{-3}$. Meanwhile, we calculated the branching fraction ratio $\mathcal{R}_{μ/e}^{K^{*0}}$ to be $0.950_{-0.002}^{+0.004}$. In addition, we extract values of the CKM matrix element, obtaining $|V_{cd}|_{(e\text{-Channel})} = 0.225_{-0.005}^{+0.005}$ and $|V_{cd}|_{(μ\text{-Channel})} = 0.227_{-0.004}^{+0.011}$. The symmetry properties of the phase diagram of dense quark matter composed of $u$ and $d$ quarks with three colors have been investigated in the framework of massless (3+1)-dimensional Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) and QCD models. It turns out that in the presence of baryon $μ_B$, isospin $μ_I$, chiral $μ_5$ and chiral isospin $μ_{I5}$ chemical potentials, the Lagrangians of these models are invariant under the so-called dual transformation ${\cal D}$. In this paper, it has been shown that the path integration measure of the corresponding partition functions is also invariant under ${\cal D}$. Consequently, the entire NJL model (or QCD) thermodynamic potentials are dually symmetric. In particular, it means that in the total $(μ_B,μ_I,μ_5,μ_{I5})$-phase portraits of these models the chiral symmetry breaking (CSB) and charged pion condensation (PC) phases are arranged dually conjugate (or symmetrically) to each other. Dual symmetry between CSB and charged PC phases of quark matter is a fundamental property of massless dense QCD; it should be observed in the framework of any approximation to the QCD phase diagram, and have important implications for studies of the phase structure.

We develop a general holographic framework for computing thermal spectral functions of exotic spin--1 mesons. A bulk Proca mass encodes the canonical ultraviolet dimension of the interpolating operator, allowing channels with different ultraviolet scaling to be treated within a unified membrane-flow formalism in the zero-spatial-momentum limit. We test this framework in a soft-wall model with a gluon-condensate background for the hybrid $π_1$ and tetraquark-like $Z_c$ channels. The results show that dissociation temperatures of both channels lie below the phase transition temperatures. Increasing $c$ delays dissociation in both channels, but through different effects: both the vacuum-mass shift and thermal spectral deformation contribute in the $π_1$ channel, whereas the latter dominates in the $Z_c$ channel. Nevertheless, for the same environment, the $Z_c$ resonance dissociates at a lower temperature than the $π_1$ resonance.

We present fixed-order perturbative calculations up to four-loop order for a generic non-global QCD observable in hadron-hadron collisions. Specifically, we study the invariant-mass distribution of the highest-$p_t$ jet produced in association with a vector boson or a Higgs boson, where jets are defined using the Cambridge/Aachen sequential recombination algorithm. This work is part of a series of papers~\cite{Khelifa-Kerfa:2015mma, Khelifa-Kerfa:2024hwx, Khelifa-Kerfa:2024dut, Khelifa-Kerfa:2025cdn, Khelifa-Kerfa:2024udm, Khelifa-Kerfa:2025jev} examining the impact of various jet algorithms on the perturbative structure of non-global observables across different collision environments. We find that at fixed order the Cambridge/Aachen algorithm suppresses the large non-global logarithms more effectively than the anti-$k_t$ and $k_t$ algorithms, while at all orders it performs comparably to the $k_t$ algorithm. Furthermore, comparisons of all-orders resummed form factors reveal that finite-$N_c$ corrections remain at the percent level, consistent with previous findings.

We show that the concept of primary dimensions, first introduced in [1] as an organizing principle for chiral Lagrangians, is inconsistent. Although this had been pointed out already in [2], the notion of primary dimensions has re-appeared in recent literature. We briefly comment on the proper power counting for such effective field theories, including the electroweak chiral Lagrangian with a light Higgs, which is based on chiral dimensions, equivalent to the counting of loop orders.

Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) at large Bjorken-$x$ are mostly constrained by high-energy measurements, and thus risk to absorb the energy-growing effects of unaccounted new physics (NP) if it were present in the high-energy tails of hadron-collider observables used in global PDF fits. If undetected, such contamination biases the resulting PDFs and can potentially hide the absorbed NP signals from subsequent searches. We illustrate this effect in a Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) risk-assessment scenario affecting high-mass Drell-Yan production at the High-Luminosity LHC, and compare two strategies to obtain robust PDFs and SMEFT bounds: conservative fits that exclude data above an energy cut, and simultaneous fits of PDFs and Wilson coefficients performed with the {\tt SIMUnet} tool. Both approaches are shown to successfully recover the injected new physics that is otherwise absorbed and hidden by the PDFs.

We investigate the production of high-energy neutrinos from microscopic black holes formed through the gravitational collapse of asymmetric dark matter accumulated inside neutron stars. When Hawking evaporation dominates over accretion, long-lived, feebly interacting particles beyond the Standard Model escape the neutron star and subsequently decay into high-energy neutrinos. We analyze the repeated cycle of dark matter capture, black hole formation, and evaporation, identifying two distinct regimes determined by the competition between the dark matter thermalization time and the collapse cycle. In particular, we identify a partially thermalized regime in which the dark matter cloud evolves toward a quasi-stationary state with a temperature significantly exceeding that of the neutron star core. We derive the time-integrated Hawking emission, the resulting secondary neutrino spectra, and the expected Galactic and diffuse extragalactic neutrino fluxes. The predicted signal exhibits two distinctive signatures: a broad neutrino spectrum with a characteristic energy scale set by the initial Hawking temperature of the evaporating black hole, whose spectral peak naturally lies above $\mathcal{O}(10\,{\rm TeV})$, and an extended Galactic component strongly concentrated toward the Galactic Center. Although the predicted event rates are generally small, the resulting signal may contribute at the percent level to the observed Galactic high-energy neutrino flux under favorable microscopic and astrophysical conditions. The proposed mechanism provides a new observational window on Hawking evaporation through microscopic black holes continuously produced inside neutron stars, linking dark matter, compact objects, black hole thermodynamics and high-energy neutrino astronomy.

We study polarization observables in $τ^- \to V_1^- V_2^0 ν_τ$ decays for $(V_1^-, V_2^0)=(ρ^-, ρ^0), (ρ^-, ω), (K^{*-}, ρ^0), (K^{*-}, ω), (ρ^-, \bar{K}^{*0})$ using the helicity formalism within the generalized hidden local symmetry framework. The predicted branching fractions are comparable with those from the effective chiral model, but smaller than those from the angular momentum algebra model. Our results for the longitudinal polarization fractions $f_L$ indicate that nonnegligible corrections to the endpoint limit ($f_L = 1/3$), a consequence of Lorentz symmetry, are present at the scale of tau mass. Future measurements of $f_L$ at Belle II for $τ^- \to V_1^- V_2^0 ν_τ$ decays will provide crucial information on polarization patterns observed in nonleptonic charm decays.

We study heavy right-handed neutrino production induced by a derivative coupling to an axion-like inflaton and its implications for non-thermal leptogenesis. We develop a unified treatment of Majorana-fermion production during inflation and preheating. During inflation, the rolling inflaton background generates a helicity-asymmetric spectrum that can be obtained analytically in the slow-roll regime, while during preheating the oscillating background drives repeated non-adiabatic production events with a helicity-dependent effective momentum and a natural momentum cutoff. We compute the resulting abundance in both the delayed-decay and prompt-decay limits, including the effects of Pauli blocking and successive production stages. We further clarify the relation between the fermion basis used to identify non-adiabatic production and the Hamiltonian-diagonal basis used to define instantaneous occupation numbers. Applying these results to non-thermal leptogenesis, we identify parameter regions consistent with the observed baryon asymmetry.

Electron-positron annihilation is an ideal place to study the hadronization process which is described by fragmentation functions. In contrast to conventional approaches based on single-inclusive or semi-inclusive annihilation, the use of fully inclusive jets to study fragmentation functions is more advantageous. This approach provides novel insight into the underlying hadronization mechanisms. For example, the mass of the jet, which breaks chiral symmetry, can be effectively used to probe twist-3 chiral-odd effects. In this paper, we present a systematic theoretical framework for calculating the differential cross-section up to twist-3 for the unpolarized annihilation process. Calculations take into account both the electromagnetic interaction and weak interaction. We find that leading-twist fragmentation functions are convoluted into the twist-3 effects. This probably provides a new perspective for studying fragmentation functions. To this end, we introduce two twist-3 azimuthal asymmetries and give the corresponding numerical estimates. We notice that the twist-3 effects are not significantly suppressed in high-energy regions due to the presence of the weak interaction. In other words, it is feasible to measure twist-3 effects at future high-energy electron-positron colliders to study hadronization mechanisms.

The development of next-generation, high-luminosity, and high-precision charged lepton beam facilities at JLab and MAMI has opened, in recent years, a new frontier in the exploration of weak interaction processes induced by electrons and positrons in the neutral current sector, which can also be used to study weak interaction processes induced by charged currents. In particular, these processes in the intermediate energy regime, spanning from a few hundred MeV to a few GeV, play a crucial role in understanding electroweak dynamics, nucleon structure, and hadronic response functions. This review presents a comprehensive theoretical study of weak charged-current interactions of electrons and positrons with free protons, encompassing quasielastic scattering in both the strangeness conserving and strangeness changing channels, together with inelastic production of the $P_{33}$(1232), $P_{11}$(1440), $S_{11}$(1535) resonances, $η$ and $K$ mesons, and associated production of strange particles. We analyse differential and total cross sections, polarization observables of the final baryons, and spin asymmetries of the proton target, demonstrating their sensitivity to the underlying weak interaction dynamics and to possible second class currents, thereby enabling stringent tests of G- and T- invariance. The explored kinematic region also offers a unique and independent opportunity to constrain the axial vector sector of the weak interaction, and it provides a discussion of alternative ways to determine the axial dipole mass in the quasielastic scattering region, a fundamental parameter that is in debate for nearly two decades. It also focuses on the study of the axial-vector form factors associated with the excitation of the $P_{33}(1232)$ resonance in a manner that is free from the uncertainties inherent in their determination from studies of (anti)neutrino-induced weak processes.

In this talk, I summarize the highlights of our recent and ongoing work on exotic hadrons involving explicitly exotic heavy-flavor mesons. By heavy flavors, I refer in particular to strange and charm quarks. As discussed in this manuscript, several puzzle-like features appearing in recent experimental data can be understood in terms of coupled-channel interactions. The main result is the prediction of an exotic meson carrying both charm and strangeness quantum numbers, whose properties cannot be explained as those of a simple quark-antiquark bound state. I also discuss the future prospects of our research program on this topic.

Self-interacting dark matter turns the structure of galactic halos into a direct requirement on a low-energy scattering amplitude. We show that, for weakly coupled scalar dark matter, this requirement implies a much stronger mass bound on the dark matter particle than partial-wave unitarity alone. Using analyticity, crossing symmetry, locality and partial-wave unitarity, we compute the maximal allowed threshold amplitude with a dispersive primal S-matrix bootstrap, assuming only a weakly coupled EFT below a scale $Λ$ and allowing arbitrary UV particle content above $Λ$. For the benchmark self-interaction cross section $σ_{\rm self}=10^{-24}(M/\mathrm{GeV})\mathrm{cm}^2$, the mass of a generic weakly coupled scalar satisfies $M\lesssim 0.3\,\mathrm{GeV}$ in the controlled EFT regime. If dark matter is a derivative-dominated pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson, the mass bound is lowered to the MeV scale or below, depending on the hierarchy $M/Λ$.

We develop a semi-analytical framework to map ultra-high-energy neutrino fluxes onto event rates at neutrino telescopes. The formulation is based on the Boltzmann equation for the distribution of secondary muons produced by neutrino interactions in matter, and naturally accounts for the effective target volume relevant for through-going tracks. This "soft volume" is controlled by muon propagation and stochastic energy losses, and can be significantly larger than the instrumented detector volume. Exploiting the dominance of soft energy losses, we derive a controlled second-order expansion of the collision operator, reducing the transport problem to a drift-diffusion equation in energy space, with rare hard scatterings treated perturbatively. The resulting master formula provides a fast alternative to full Monte Carlo simulations while retaining a direct connection to the microscopic muon energy-loss processes. We apply the formalism to IceCube through-going muon data, marginalizing over theoretical uncertainties in the transport coefficients, and obtain a diffuse-flux fit compatible with the experimental result. We also revisit the interpretation of the ultra-high-energy track event reported by KM3NeT, assessing its consistency with IceCube non-observation in the same energy range. Our results provide a first-principles bridge between neutrino-flux models and track-event observables, with direct applications to precision neutrino astronomy and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model.

We investigate the contributions of Lepton Number Violating (LNV) effective operators to the rare decays $B\to K^{(\ast)}νν$ and $K\to πνν$. Such operators can modify the kinematic distributions of these processes, providing distinctive probes of physics beyond the Standard Model. Through a renormalization-group analysis, we show that the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) operators responsible for these effects are subject to stringent indirect constraints from neutrino physics. In particular, we find that the mild excess reported by Belle-II in the $B^+\to K^+νν$ channel cannot be explained by LNV SMEFT operators without introducing significant fine-tuning in neutrino masses. We then show that these constraints can be evaded in the SMEFT minimally extended by a light right-handed neutrino, allowing for sizable effects in rare meson decays. Finally, we explore the implications of this viable scenario for low-energy processes, including neutrinoless double-beta decays.

Using a sequence of effective field theories (EFTs), we calculate the rate for the leptonic decay $B^-\toτ^-\barν_τ(γ)$ including real and virtual QED corrections, with a cut $E_{\rm cut}\llΛ_{\rm QCD}$ imposed on electromagnetic radiation in the $B$-meson rest frame. We establish a factorization theorem for the rate and evaluate it at $\mathcal{O}(α)$, resumming the leading logarithmic corrections to all orders in perturbation theory. The large mass $m_τ$ allows us to treat the tau lepton as a heavy fermion below $μ\sim m_B\sim m_τ$, leading to an EFT construction that is structurally different and noticeably simpler than that for the muon case. In particular, hadron-structure dependent QED corrections can be described in terms of QED-induced $B^-\toτ^-$ form factors, which should be calculable on the lattice. Our analysis includes the leading $Λ_{\rm QCD}/m_τ$ corrections as well as the leading corrections in $E_{\rm cut}/Λ_{\rm QCD}$. We show that contributions of the form $Λ_{\rm QCD}m_B/m_τ^2$, which are naively sizable, cancel among each other. Contrary to the muon channel, structure-dependent corrections involving $BB^\astγ$ transitions are numerically negligible for the tau case. The remaining logarithmic dependence on $E_\mathrm{cut}$ is mild. We estimate that the present uncertainty in the calculation of the structure-dependent QED corrections is about 0.5\% of the rate. As a byproduct, we present a state-of-the-art prediction for the lepton flavor universality ratio of the tau and muon channels.

CKM unitarity triangle constraints are insensitive to New Physics scenarios in which the $b$-column is uniformly rescaled. This is because B physics data over-constrain the angles of the (bd) unitarity triangle, but only calibrate its normalization. We identify this flat direction and derive model-independent constraints on the rescaling. We find that $|\varepsilon_K|$ already constrains the rescaling at the same level as the direct measurement of the $b$-column normalization, with current data allowing for ${\cal O}(4\%)$ deviations. Projected inputs promote the kaon sector to be the leading probe. A toy model employing mixing with a vector-like up-type singlet provides a proof of principle for a possible UV realization.

Dynamical dark energy offers an alternative to a cosmological constant with distinct observational signatures. However, the small energy density scale, Hubble-sized mass, and Planckian excursions make simple models fine-tuned and unnatural. In this work, we show that a weak version of the axion, identified with the phase field of the anomalous $U(1)_{B+L}$ of the Standard Model, can generate the scale hierarchies expected for dark energy. The axion potential is controlled by sources of explicit baryon and lepton number violation and is radiatively stable. We show that the leading contribution comes from two inequivalent Weinberg operators, one $B+L$-conserving and one $B+L$-violating, which generate the axion potential. We propose a flavor selection rule based on a spontaneously broken $S_3$ permutation symmetry in the lepton sector that simultaneously removes the quadratic divergence and dominant temperature-dependent contributions. The resulting potential first appears at quartic order in the axion-dependent neutrino masses and, for the observed departure from tribimaximal mixing, its amplitude is parametrically close to the dark-energy density. The dominant uncertainty comes from $δ_{\rm CP}$ and $θ_{23}$, so experiments like Hyper-K and DUNE can directly test the model in the future. Cosmologically, the field behaves as thawing quintessence for $f$ close to $M_{pl}$, stays frozen by Hubble friction until late times and never enters the adiabatic regime.

The GeV-scale QCD axion -- where Peccei-Quinn (PQ) symmetry is broken by the QCD condensate at $f_a\sim\mathcal{O}(1)$~GeV -- faces a structural isospin problem: the PQ spurion coupling to light quarks ($u,d,s$) breaks $\mathrm{SU}(2)$ isospin, generating an unacceptable $\sim 15\%$ $π^0$--$π^\pm$ mass splitting. We show that coupling the PQ scalar to the charm quark instead eliminates this violation entirely, and lowering $m_φ\sim 3$--$4$~MeV makes the charm Yukawa $κ_c\propto m_φ$ perturbative ($κ_c<1$). The resulting $f_a\sim\text{GeV}\ll M_{\rm Pl}$ solves the axion quality problem: even the lowest-dimension $d=6$ Planck-suppressed operator gives $m_{\rm PQ}/m_a\sim 10^{-14}$, without any additional symmetry. The model predicts a distinctive {\it negative} $ΔN_{\rm eff}\sim -0.1$ for $m_φ\sim 3$~MeV, testable by CMB-S4. The $B\to Kσ$ penguin predicts $\mathrm{BR}\sim 2\times 10^{-5}$, consistent with the Belle~II evidence for $B^+\to K^+ν\barν$ at $(2.3\pm0.7)\times 10^{-5}$~\cite{BelleII:2024knv}. All ten classes of experimental, astrophysical, and cosmological constraints are satisfied in the viable window $m_φ\sim 3$--$4$~MeV, with the $B_s$ mixing constraint pending a dedicated lattice calculation.

We present a continuum-QCD determination of the leading-order hadronic vacuum-polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon within the Dyson-Schwinger and Bethe-Salpeter equation framework. The calculation incorporates pion back-reaction, a fully dressed quark-photon vertex with a dynamically generated $ρ$-resonance structure in the timelike region, and both strong and electromagnetic isospin breaking treated self-consistently at the quark level. We obtain $a_μ^{\mathrm{HVP,LO}}(u+d+s+c)|_{\mathrm{ISB}} = 709.7 \times 10^{-10}$, in good agreement with recent lattice-QCD determinations, and find an isospin-breaking shift of $Δa_μ^{\mathrm{HVP,LO}} = 4.5 \times 10^{-10}$ ($0.6\%$), demonstrating that isospin-breaking effects, while quantitatively modest, are not negligible. Including the bottom-quark contribution and an indicative estimate of the systematic uncertainties, we obtain our final result, $a_μ^{\mathrm{HVP,LO}}(u+d+s+c+b)|_{\mathrm{ISB}} = (710.0 \pm 14.5) \times 10^{-10}$.

We study the cascade semileptonic decay $Λ_c^+\toΛ^*_{1405/1520}(\toΣπ)\ell^+ν_\ell$ using the helicity amplitude formalism, and derive the full four-body angular distribution. The contributions from the spin-$1/2$ and spin-$3/2$ intermediate resonances, their interference effects, and the corresponding angular coefficients are obtained explicitly. Using available form-factor inputs, we provide numerical predictions for the invariant-mass distribution, helicity-angle distributions, and angular asymmetries. Based on these observables, we discuss strategies for extracting the relevant form factors and analyze the sensitivity of the angular observables to variations in the form factors. Finally, we investigate the strong phases in the $Λ_c^+\toΛ^*$ form factors and discuss how the strong-phase difference can be extracted from the angular distribution. Our results offer useful theoretical guidance for future experimental analyses.

Global fits in high energy physics and cosmology often face the challenge of exploring high-dimensional parameter spaces with computationally expensive or topologically complex likelihood functions. In this work, we present a Machine Learning framework designed to emulate complex, often non-Gaussian likelihood landscapes using gradient-boosted regression trees (XGBoost). We discuss the advantages of the Machine Learning approach in terms of computational efficiency and the resolution of confidence regions, particularly in scenarios with complex correlations or "curved" degeneracies. We validate this methodology by applying it to a recent analysis on flavour anomalies in semileptonic $B$ meson decays and discussing the adaptability of this framework to other phenomenological systems, such as axion-like particles or cosmology global fits. Finally, we utilise SHAP (Shapley Additive exPlanations) values to provide a transparent analysis of feature importance, ensuring that the Machine Learning predictions remain physically interpretable and consistent with the underlying physics.

We analyze the low lying spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ $Ξ$ spectrum by means of the two point QCD sum rule approach. The analysis is motivated by the BESIII observation of the $Ξ(1720)$ resonance, reported with mass $1721.0\pm5.2_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm3.4_{\mathrm{syst.}}~\mathrm{MeV}$ and favored quantum numbers $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^{+}$. In this framework, we include the $1S$, $1P$, $2S$ and $2P$ configurations as possible low lying spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ cascade states. The extracted masses are $1527.53\pm111.38~\mathrm{MeV}$, $1615.30\pm50.98~\mathrm{MeV}$, $1727.52\pm42.39~\mathrm{MeV}$ and $1803.71\pm64.50~\mathrm{MeV}$ for the $1S$, $1P$, $2S$ and $2P$ states, respectively. The mass obtained for the $2S$ configuration agrees with the BESIII value within uncertainties and favors the assignment of $Ξ(1720)$ as the first radial spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ excitation of the $Ξ$ baryon.

The $X_{17}$ particle has been proposed to explain the invariant mass anomalies observed in electron-positron pairs during nuclear transitions at the Atomki experiment. Motivated by recent observations of $^8$B solar neutrinos induced coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE$ν$NS), we present the first comprehensive analysis of the hypothetical boson using data from multi-ton dark matter direct detection facilities. We investigate the thermo-electric response of a magnetized non-extensive quark-gluon plasma within the framework of kinetic theory using the relaxation time approximation (RTA). The interactions among the partons are incorporated through a quasi-particle model, where the medium-dependent quark mass is obtained from the poles of the resummed hard-thermal-loop (HTL) propagator. Our results show that non-extensive effects suppress the Seebeck coefficient both in the absence and in the presence of an external magnetic field. In contrast, the Nernst coefficient, which arises only in the presence of a magnetic field, is found to be significantly enhanced by non-extensivity. These findings demonstrate that deviations from equilibrium can substantially modify the thermo-electric transport properties of the quark gluon plasma.

At high energy, the dipole gluon distribution is described at eikonal order by the Wilson-line dipole correlator, whose high-energy evolution is governed by the Balitsky-Kovchegov equation. Going beyond the eikonal approximation, we identify the subeikonal operator representing the dipole gluon distribution, consisting of a Wilson line with a single insertion of the light-cone chromoelectric field, and derive its high-energy evolution equation in the large-$N_c$ limit under the single-logarithmic approximation. The resulting nonlinear evolution is coupled to the Wilson-line dipole correlator and incorporates gluon saturation effects. In the dilute limit, the subeikonal distribution grows as a power-law of the energy with exponent $α_s N_c/2π$, less than one fifth of the eikonal value, while in the saturation regime it obeys the same Levin--Tuchin law as the eikonal correlator. These results constitute the first closed nonlinear evolution equation for the dipole gluon distribution at subeikonal order, a step toward precision small-$x$ phenomenology and toward connecting small-$x$ physics with the moderate-$x$ dynamics.

To circumvent the severe numerical cancellations in the standard integrated CP asymmetry ($A_{CP}$) near the $ω$ mass $m_ω$, we propose a modified CP-violating observable, $A_{CP}^{\Re}$, which explicitly highlights the contribution of the real part of the interference term. Subsequently, we employ the three-body hadronic decay $B^{-} \rightarrow π^{+} π^{-} π^{-}$ within the Perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach as a primary case study to validate this theoretical framework. Furthermore, this method naturally eliminates the smooth, sign-preserving continuum background originating from broad scalar resonances like the $f_0(500)$. This generalized framework provides clean and robust theoretical guidance for recovering localized CP-violation signals that might otherwise be masked by coarse experimental binning at future high-luminosity colliders.

Primordial Black Holes (PBHs) are an attractive candidate for Dark Matter (DM) and there has been extensive experimental efforts to look for them. The asteroid-mass window, $M_{\text{PBH}} \sim 10^{17} - 10^{23}$ g, is particularly interesting, since PBHs in this range may still constitute all of DM. In this work, we study a scenario in which rotating PBHs are surrounded by superradiantly produced boson clouds that emit an approximately steady and nearly monochromatic flux of neutrinos in the few MeV range. We compute both the Galactic and extragalactic neutrino fluxes from such PBH populations and compare them with existing low-energy antineutrino limits from Borexino, KamLAND, and Super-Kamiokande. For scalar bosons, we find that these neutrino searches can strongly constrain a significant part of the asteroid-mass window and extend to somewhat larger masses. For instance, for rapidly rotating PBHs with spin ã = 0.9 and gravitational fine-structure coupling $α_g=0.25$, the strongest bound on dark matter fraction reaches approximately $f_{\text{PBH}} \sim 10^{-7}$ around $M_{\text{PBH}} \sim 2 \times 10^{22}$ g for a Yukawa coupling $g_{νφ} = 10^{-4}$. These constraints can be significantly stronger than existing microlensing limits in the same mass range. Our results provide a complementary neutrino probe of PBH DM, distinct from previous neutrino constraints based mainly on Hawking evaporation from lighter PBHs.

Ultralight axion-like particles coupled to photons rotate the linear polarization of distant sources. We propose using the three-dimensional two-point correlation of galaxy polarization-rotation angles to measure not only the amplitude of this birefringence field but also its spatial coherence scale. For a nonrelativistic ALP component with an isotropic Gaussian velocity distribution, the equal-time field correlation has an $e^{-1}$ scale $L_{\rm G}^{\rm phys}=\sqrt{6}/(m_a v_a)$, where $v_a$ is the three-dimensional rms ALP velocity dispersion. A detected turnover in the galaxy-pair correlation therefore measures the characteristic momentum scale $m_a v_a$, while the correlation amplitude constrains $g_{aγ}\sqrt{Ω_a/Ω_{\rm DM}}$. For a fiducial survey with $10^6$ polarized galaxies over a quarter of the sky to $z=2$ and effective per-galaxy scatter $σ_{\rm tot}=10^\circ$, we find $5σ$ sensitivity to sub-degree correlated rotations over $m_a(10^{-3}c/v_a)\sim10^{-29}$--$10^{-27}\,{\rm eV}$, with $σ[\log_{10}(m_a v_a)]\lesssim0.1$ for detected signals across much of this range. This provides a geometric late-time probe complementary to CMB birefringence and structure-formation constraints.

We study the contributions of target quark background to quark-gluon and quark-antiquark dijet productions cross sections in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at arbitrary Bjorken-$x$. Using the background-field method, we organize the leading-order dijet production cross section in terms of bilocal quark and trilocal quark--gluon--quark correlators. The former provides the contributions of the leading-twist as well as the kinematical and dynamical twist-three quark transverse-momentum-dependent (TMD) distributions, while the latter encode contributions of the dynamical twist-three TMD distributions. {Together with the gluon distributions derived in Ref.~\cite{Mukherjee:2026cte}}, these results provide the complete leading-order cross section for back-to-back dijet production in DIS at arbitrary Bjorken-$x$ to twist-three accuracy. This theoretical framework extends the TMD description of the process beyond the small-$x$ eikonal regime and provides the necessary tools for analyzing data from the future Electron--Ion Collider.

We investigate whether photon-induced production in ultraperipheral heavy-ion collisions and at the EIC can provide a new environment to search for the scalar $D \bar{D}$ molecular candidate usually denoted as $X(3700)$. We calculate the tree-level amplitudes for $γγ\to D^+ D^-$ and $γγ\to D^0 \bar{D^0}$, dress the outgoing pair with a coupled-channel Bethe-Salpeter interaction in the $(D^+ D^- , D^0 \bar{D^0})$ basis, and convolute the resulting subprocess cross sections with equivalent-photon spectra. In the adopted two-channel scenario the analytic continuation of the $T$-matrix gives a bound state at $M_X=3.7162$~GeV, which is below the $D^0 \bar{D^0}$ threshold. As a consequence of this, the observed signal in the continuum is not simply an isolated narrow peak, and a characteristic near-threshold line-shape distortion is produced: around $3.70 \leq W \leq 3.85$~GeV the integrated dressed-to-bare ratios are $(13.71,0.35)$ in Pb-Pb UPCs and $(13.74,0.35)$ in $e$-Au collisions for $(D^+D^-,D^0 \bar{D^0})$. Using the BABAR-fitted central normalization $K_{\rm dressed}=0.382$, the corresponding dressed cross sections are $(24.6,14.6)~μ{\rm b}$ in Pb-Pb UPCs and $(2.41,1.43)~\rm nb$ at the EIC. The charged-to-neutral ratios are directly accessible observables, whereas the dressed-to-bare ratios provide theoretical diagnostics of the final-state interaction. The near-threshold features are controlled by the common $γγ\to D\bar{D}$ dynamics and are rather independent of the external photon source.

The structure of jets produced in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions carries information on parton energy loss and interaction in the quark-gluon plasma. This parton energy loss results in migration of jets in terms of transverse momentum, leading to a selection bias in inclusive jet measurements. Using the JEWEL event generator, we investigate a strategy to reduce selection bias and access medium-induced jet broadening, in an experimentally viable way. As a baseline, we first consider large-R $γ$+jet events, with little selection bias, which show a clear signal of medium-induced broadening in the jet girth. However, large-R is experimentally inaccessible due to the large underlying event fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions, so we re-cluster a collection of small-radius ($r_{\rm sub}$ = 0.2) jets as a proxy for the large-radius (R = 1.2) jet, which we refer to as a trimmed jet. We quantify to what extent trimmed jets recover signals of jet broadening and investigate its dependence on the subjet cone size and the minimum transverse momentum. We study the internal structure of the subjets to expose the dependence of jet quenching on different subjet configurations, finding a strong narrowing of PbPb jets for the 1-subjet configurations, and a visible signature of medium-induced broadening for sub-leading subjets. The jet radial profile reveals that contributions from medium-induced broadening are distinct from radiation in pp collisions. These contributions are not easily recovered using our trimming procedure, but are substantially enhanced in single-subjet configurations when considering the profile \emph{beyond} the subjet radius. This provides guidance for future experimental studies of jet-medium interactions using $γ$+jet in heavy-ion collisions.

Amongst the simplest extensions of the Standard Model is the addition of a real singlet scalar field with profound phenomenological consequences. The singlet can catalyze a strong first-order electroweak phase transition, necessary for successful electroweak baryogenesis. Furthermore, the current prediction of a metastable Higgs vacuum can be lifted towards absolute stability. While current data mainly constrain the scalar mixing angle, future measurements of the Higgs self-coupling and direct searches for additional scalar states will probe much larger parts of the viable parameter space. We report on a combined study of theoretical and experimental constraints on the real singlet extension, highlighting here in particular its implications for vacuum stability.

Extending heavy-baryon \(χ\)PT to higher-spin resonances introduces unphysical lower-spin admixtures, leading to costly path-integral projections. To resolve this, we develop an on-shell implementation of the heavy-baryon expansion based on recoil-channel partial-wave eigenoperators. These eigenoperators separate the static mass dependence from recoil structures and assign chiral order directly in amplitude space. The resulting static--recoil factorization systematically generates non-redundant local operators for heavy-baryon sectors involving higher-spin resonances. Flavor structures and identical-particle constraints are imposed through a new linear-algebraic reduction that uses von Neumann alternating projections to extract the corresponding common physical subspace. Beyond this specific application, the framework can be broadly applied to general nonrelativistic effective field theories.

Anisotropic materials have emerged as promising candidates for the next generation of sub-GeV dark matter direct detection experiments, because their intrinsic directionality gives rise to a daily modulation signal as the detector rotates with respect to a dark matter wind. Predicting the shape of the modulation signal requires knowledge of the electronic excited states: however, we show that the amplitude of the modulation can be estimated using only the symmetries of the material. By decomposing the finite momentum dark matter--electron scattering form factor into spherical harmonics, we show that the 230 crystallographic space groups collapse to just 5 classes, distinguished by their suppression of the quadrupole modes of the squared form factor. We apply our symmetry-projection framework to the special case of molecular crystals, and derive an accurate group-theoretic estimator for the loss of daily modulation signal due to crystallisation, which depends only on the symmetries and relative orientations of the molecules within the crystal. Finally, we demonstrate that these estimates are linearly proportional to the absolute magnitude of the modulation signal, allowing us to rank molecular crystals without the need for expensive electronic structure calculations. Together, these results provide a fast and interpretable route to large-scale screening of anisotropic materials for directional dark matter detection.

We present helicity amplitudes at three loops in the heavy-top quark effective theory of QCD for the scattering of a Higgs boson and three light partons with full-color dependence. To obtain these results, we use integration-by-parts identities implemented in the code Blade and evaluate the master integrals using canonical differential equations. We obtain compact analytic expressions in terms of generalized polylogarithms suitable for numerical evaluation. We observe that sub-leading color contributions at three loops are numerically as significant as leading-color terms. Our amplitudes are key ingredients for precision LHC phenomenology, for example in production cross sections involving a Higgs boson and a hadronic jet.

We investigate three-Higgs-doublet models with a softly broken generalized CP (GCP) symmetry, focusing on the Yukawa sector and its compatibility with quark flavor data. We first show that the 40 GCP-symmetric models previously identified are not all physically distinct, by constructing the basis transformations relating equivalent realizations and identifying spurious parameters. We then perform numerical fits to the six quark masses and the four independent parameters of the Cabibbo--Kobayashi--Maskawa matrix, further reducing the set of viable models. In contrast to the GCP-symmetric two-Higgs-doublet case, we find that GCP-symmetric three-Higgs-doublet models can successfully reproduce all quark masses and mixings. In total, 22 inequivalent models are compatible with current experimental data, and representative benchmark points are presented. Our results establish softly broken GCP-symmetric three-Higgs-doublet models as phenomenologically viable extensions of the Standard Model and provide a framework for further studies of their flavor phenomenology.

We investigate the scenario of maximally invisible axions, namely QCD axions whose interactions with matter arise exclusively from the irreducible coupling to gluons responsible for solving the strong-CP problem. We first analyze the production of such axions in core-collapse supernovae. In particular, we derive the corresponding SN 1987A cooling constraint and compute the emission spectra for the dominant production channels, namely nucleon-nucleon bremsstrahlung and pion conversion. We then investigate the prospects for detecting maximally invisible axions in Cherenkov detectors, with the goal of establishing a robust lower bound on the overall detectability of QCD axions.

We construct an explicit anomaly-free completion of a gauged baryon-number symmetry. The new gauge factor is \(U(1)_{\tilde B}\): when restricted to the Standard Model fields its charge \({\tilde B}\) coincides with ordinary baryon number, whereas in the full theory it becomes an extended baryonic symmetry acting on both the Standard Model and a secluded sector. We show that anomaly cancellation alone leaves a broad class of solutions, but that requiring consistent symmetry breaking, viable decays of the exotic states, the absence of stable coloured relics, a neutral dark matter candidate protected by a \(Z_2^{\rm DM}\) parity, and improved high-scale gauge-coupling unification strongly constrains the structure of the model. These requirements necessitate enlarging the minimal secluded fermion sector by additional scalar fields and Yukawa interactions, giving rise to a light pseudoscalar that plays an important role in the dark matter phenomenology. We implement the resulting renormalisable model in SARAH and analyse its spectrum and phenomenology with SPheno, MicrOMEGAs, SModelS, and HiggsTools. We identify viable regions of parameter space containing a heavy baryonic Z', an even heavier secluded sector, a neutral dark matter candidate compatible with relic-density and direct-detection constraints, and improved gauge-coupling evolution relative to the Standard Model. In these regions, the relic abundance is determined either by co-annihilation with nearby secluded states or by annihilation into light pseudoscalars from the extended scalar sector.

Final state radiation in collider processes can be interpreted as interactions with unobserved degrees of freedom and is often discussed within the context of decoherence of an entangled state. We consider the radiative decay of the $Z$ boson as a representative example and perform a detailed analytical study of the $τ^-τ^+γ$ spin state, as determined by the chiral interactions of the Standard Model, over the complete three-body phase space. We explore various quantum information observables to quantify how the $τ^-τ^+$ spin state changes with the photon radiation. We find some striking features, for example that the emitted photon could either lead to decoherence or monotonic enhancement of entanglement for the fermion pair.

Massive astrophysical objects can source huge static configurations of a scalar field. When such an object ends up forming a black hole, for instance, via a core-collapse supernova, the scalar field loses its source abruptly; then the static configuration becomes dynamical and propagates away in a burst, a "scalar tsunami". These bursts accumulate over cosmological history, forming a relic stochastic diffuse scalar background peaked in the $1-10^3~\text{Hz}$ range. We propose this as a novel mechanism for the generation of such a background, compute its spectrum, and compare it with the sensitivity of future experiments. We show how this extends the experimental sensitivity to scalar masses $m_φ\lesssim 10^{-13}~\text{eV}$, ten orders of magnitude larger than those accessible via individual transient events previously considered.

In this regime, the two photons from the ALP decay are collimated and reconstructed as a single photon.

Diffraction is characterized by forward scattering and a large rapidity gap. Ordinary hard scattering also produces gapped events and presents a significant background to identification of diffractively produced events. We present a fully differential factorization of gapped hard $ep$ scattering. We find that the unpolarized azimuthally-dependent structure functions $F_{3,4}^{\rm gap}$ and the longitudinal $F_L^{\rm gap}$ vanish at leading power for hard scattering. Azimuthal dependence is thus a pure diffractive signature. This is borne out in Monte Carlo simulations.

The signature prediction of extra-dimensional theories is the appearance of a tower of massive gravitons. In this work, we study the constraints on resonant heavy spin-2 particles at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), with focus on the entire tower of gravitons, beyond the traditional single-resonance analysis. Since several states of the tower can lie within the same accessible mass window, the combined signal is enhanced, and the resulting constraints can be significantly stronger than those obtained from a single resonance alone. We first update the current constraints on single graviton searches stemming from diphoton and dilepton data from ATLAS and CMS, using datasets collected above $\sim 200\,{\rm GeV}$, and then consider the impact on the bounds of the full tower of states for different extra-dimensional scenarios. This allows us to extend the reach of current searches to lower mass regions than typically considered, paving the way for future analyses by experimental collaborations.

We investigate the Standard Model (SM) description of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed charm decays $D^0\to π^-π^+$, $D^0\to K^-K^+$ and $D^0\to K_{\rm S}^0K_{\rm S}^0$. Using factorisation together with isospin symmetry, we constrain non-factorisable effects and the associated $U$-spin breaking required by the measured branching fractions. We find that corrections of order $50\%$ are sufficient to describe all modes, which although sizeable, are not unexpected for hadronic charm decays. Using the constraints from the branching fractions, we derive SM predictions for the direct CP asymmetry in $D^0\to K_{\rm S}^0K_{\rm S}^0$, finding it to be at most at the per-mille level in our benchmark scenario, providing motivation for future precision measurements.

We present the calculation involving the $qq$, $qq'$ and $qg$ partonic channels contributing to heavy-quark pair production at hadron colliders through next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD using the antenna subtraction formalism. The calculation is performed in full colour and implemented within the NNLOJET framework. Building upon previously available results, we complete the NNLO treatment of the $qq$ and $qq'$ channels by deriving the integrated subtraction contributions required at the real virtual and double-virtual levels. We further present for the first time the NNLO antenna subtraction terms related to the $qg$-channel in full colour. The calculation requires several new ingredients, including massive soft factors and convolutions involving integrated massive antennae thereby extending the integrated antenna library to cope with processes with massive fermions. We validate the calculation through analytic infrared pole cancellation and numerical comparisons with existing results. These results complete the NNLO description of the $qq$, $qq'$, and $qg$ channels and constitute an important step towards a fully differential NNLO treatment of heavy-quark pair production within the antenna subtraction formalism.

We compare standard fixed-order NLO QCD predictions for the full off-shell $pp \to e^+ν_e\, μ^-\barν_μ\, τ^+ν_τ\, b\bar{b} \, (j) + X$ processes in the multi-lepton decay channel with the results obtained using the MiNLO approach. The MiNLO method, now also implemented in the Helac-NLO framework, provides a dynamic determination of the renormalization and factorization scale settings by identifying the most likely branching histories of the additional jets through an inverse $k_T$-clustering algorithm. The inclusion of Sudakov form factors accounts for the large logarithms that arise in the presence of widely separated scales. We perform a dedicated comparison of the two approaches at both the integrated and differential (fiducial) cross-section levels for the LHC Run II energy of $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV. Finally, we present the merging of the full off-shell predictions for $pp \to e^+ν_e\, μ^-\barν_μ\, τ^+ν_τ\, b\bar{b} \, + X$, $pp \to e^+ν_e\, μ^-\barν_μ\, τ^+ν_τ\, b\bar{b} \, j +X$ and $pp \to e^+ν_e\, μ^-\barν_μ\, τ^+ν_τ\, b\bar{b} \, jj$, with the aim of improving the description of the underlying $pp \to e^+ν_e\, μ^-\barν_μ\, τ^+ν_τ\, b\bar{b} + X$ process.

Dilepton (Virtual photon) polarization is characterized by anisotropic coefficients $λ_θ$, $λ_φ$, and $λ_{θφ}$, which are expected to be influenced by vorticity and magnetic fields. This work investigates thermal dilepton production in a quark-gluon plasma via the quark-antiquark annihilation process $q\bar{q} \to γ^* \to l^+l^-$. Virtual photon polarization can be induced by both the spin polarization of quarks and the anisotropy of their momentum distribution in the medium. By employing the modified quark propagator under an external field, we derive the electromagnetic spectral function in a hot medium. Based on the spin-projection decomposition of the spectral function, the spin density matrix elements of the virtual photon and the anisotropy coefficients for the emitted dileptons are determined. Due to the distinct effects of vorticity and magnetic fields on the quark propagator, the resulting invariant mass spectra of dilepton polarization exhibit characteristic differences. Furthermore, our study reveals the response of dilepton polarization signals to external fields of varying strengths, suggesting dilepton polarization as a complementary and sensitive probe for both vorticity and magnetic fields in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

The masses of light non-strange mesons can be parameterized as a function of the radial quantum number $n$ and the orbital angular momentum $L$. We perform a comprehensive statistical and phenomenological comparative analysis of competing Regge-like formulas evaluated against two experimental datasets: a benchmark sample of 27 well-established states from the 2024 Particle Data Group (PDG) data, and an expanded sample of 85 states compiled within a recently proposed $(L,n)$-classification. Two linear Regge models for $M^2(L,n)$ are tested: one featuring distinct slopes for $L$ and $n$, $M^2(L,n)\propto an+bL$ (Model 1), and another assuming a universal slope, $M^2(L,n)\propto a(n+L)$ (Model 2). Model selection is conducted quantitatively using the Residual Sum of Squares (RSS), the adjusted RSS, the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), and the Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC). Within the 27 benchmark states, Model 2 is statistically disfavored. We argue, however, that this discrepancy is driven by the specific behavior of $S$-wave ($L=0$) states. Upon their exclusion, the difference in performance between the two models becomes statistically insignificant, with information criteria selecting Model 2 as the more parsimonious description. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the masses of $S$-wave states can be successfully accommodated by a physically motivated, nonlinear $L$-dependent correction. A parallel analysis of the extended 85-state dataset, where the relative contribution of $S$-wave states is significantly smaller, reveals that Model 2 is statistically preferred, thereby restoring the Coulomb-like degeneracy in the Regge spectrum under consideration.

In this work, we propose a new scan tool that automatically calculates maximal cross section predictions for a new physics scenario with additional scalar states. While the tool is currently optimized for asymmetric production and decay processes in the form of p p -> h3 -> h1 h2, where hi denote CP even neutral scalars, in principle it can be extended to include any production and decay mode. As the code builds largely on the structure of the publicly available code ScannerS, it can in principle be extended to any other model contained within this tool. We here show first applications for a specific model, the Two-Real-Singlet Model (TRSM), and compare to publicly available results from the LHC collaborations from the previous runs. We also in detail discuss the structure of the code, including code installation, usage, as well as underlying algorithms.

QCD sum rules are among the most important non-perturbative tools in hadron physics, with the Laplace sum rule (LSR) and moment sum rule (MSR) being the two most commonly used formulations. Despite their widespread application, both approaches have significant shortcomings: the LSR relies on subjective criteria -- namely OPE convergence and pole dominance -- to constrain the parameter space, while the conventional MSR cannot extract the coupling constant of the interpolating current. More critically, the ground-state masses obtained from these two methods are often inconsistent. In this work, we propose an improved moment sum rule (IMSR) framework that resolves these issues simultaneously. Our method explicitly incorporates quark-hadron duality, which introduces the approximation condition on the OPE side and provides a natural a posteriori constraint on the parameters. We impose rigorous dependence conditions on the unphysical parameters $(Q^2_0,n)$ to quantify and control their influence. As a result, our framework uniquely determines both the optimal value of the duality parameter and the ground-state mass, without invoking any ad hoc or subjective criteria. It also allows for the simultaneous extraction of the current coupling. Applying the IMSR to a pseudoscalar $ud\Bar{d}\Bar{s}$ tetraquark system, the results are in excellent agreement with our previous LSR analyses, validating the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The IMSR method substantially enhances the robustness and reliability of QCD sum rules, effectively eliminating the subjectivity that has long plagued conventional formulations.

Next-to-the leading order of the differential cross-section of the subprocess of annihilation of quark-antiquark pair \(q\bar{q} \rightarrow gγ\) of prompt photon production in nonpolarized and longitudinally polarized proton-proton collisions at NICA energies has been investigated. Shown, that contribution of the next-to-leading order to the differential cross-section of annihilation of quark-antiquark pair \(q\bar{q} \rightarrow gγ\) is significant at the high energies of colliding protons and consist around 15\% of leading order calculation. The influence of longitudinal polarization of colliding protons on the contributions of the next-to-leading order is more significant than, on the contributions of the leading order and it is significant at high energies of colliding protons. PYTHIA 8.316 \textbf{+} POWHEG BOX Monte Carlo (MC) event generator has been used for numerically simulation of prompt photon production in annihilation of quark-antiquark pair in NLO approximation for determination of the dependences of cross section on the sum of energies of colliding protons \(\sqrt{s}\), transverse momentum \(p_{T}\), cosine of scattering angle \(Cos(θ)\), rapidity y of photon and \(x_{T}\). We present a momentum-space framework for the consistent treatment of Coulomb interactions in femtoscopic correlation functions based on a modified Vincent--Phatak method that is more amenable to numerical implementation. The formalism provides a practical approach to incorporating Coulomb effects at the short distances relevant for femtoscopy within the Lippmann--Schwinger equation, while preserving a unified treatment of the strong interaction. As an application, we study the $S=-4$ pseudoscalar--baryon decuplet interaction in the $\bar{K}Ω$ system and present predictions for the singly and doubly negatively charged channels, $\bar{K}^0Ω^-$ and $K^-Ω^-$. As an additional validation of the formalism, we have also applied it to the well-studied $pp$ system. We further assess the limitations of the asymptotic wave-function approximation and quantify corrections accounting for the short-distance structure of the interaction potential. We introduce a phenomenological parameter that effectively absorbs contributions from both the finite source size and the off-shell structure of the interaction, the latter being one of the main obstacles to extracting detailed information on hadron--hadron interactions from femtoscopic measurements in a model-independent way.

Scaling amplitudes describing $pp$ elastic scattering differential cross-sections in the dip-bump region of momentum transfer at the LHC have been recently derived~\cite{scaling}. We check that the same scaling is verified by the $p\bar p$ cross-section at the highest energy of the Tevatron. Applying the general "energy to phase" relation for a given signature, coming from the analiticity properties inherent to the S-Matrix formalism~\cite{chew}, we derive the scaling amplitude with positive signature (i.e. the Pomeron). Fitting the $pp$ differential cross-sections measured by the TOTEM collaboration leads to some tension with data in the experimental dip observed at moderate momentum transfer. Concentrating the study to the dip/bump region, we are able to determine a contribution of a negative signature amplitude (i.e. the Odderon) leading to a parameter free prediction for the $p\bar p$ differential cross-section which is in agreement with the D0 data. The extraction of the Odderon amplitude in both modulus and phase is then performed and discussed.
